GET YOUR HOME ASSESSED

Let’s Get Started

The Yukon Renewable Heating Fund is dedicated to supporting homeowners in transitioning to cleaner heating solutions. By installing electric thermal storage (ETS), heat pumps, or a combination of both. You not only reduce your carbon footprint but also contribute to a more sustainable future for the Yukon.

How It Works:

  1. Application Process:

    • Eligibility: Homeowners must reside in the Yukon and own their property. Priority is given to older homes and those currently using less efficient heating systems.

    • Application Form: Complete the application form available on our website or by contacting our office.

    • Documentation Required: Proof of home ownership, recent heating bills, and a brief description of current heating systems.

  2. Assessment:

    • Site Evaluation: Once your application is received, a certified technician will conduct a site evaluation to assess your home's heating needs and determine the best solution.

  3. Installation:

    • Selection: Identify between ETS, heat pumps or other retrofit options based on  recommendations from the energy assessment.

    • Contracting: We will connect you with approved local contractors who will handle the installation.

  4. Funding:

    • Carbon Offset Credits: The cost of the retrofit is partially covered by carbon offset credits purchased through our program.

    • Co-payment: Homeowners may be required to contribute a portion of the installation cost, depending on the extent of the retrofit and available funds.

  5. Follow-Up:

    • Performance Monitoring: We will check in periodically to ensure your new system is operating efficiently and meeting your heating needs.
