Gaining Ground - Women, Mining, and the Environment came out of the notable absence of information on how the mining industry impacts women, their families and the communities they live in. This publication was produced by the Yukon Conservation Society and the Yukon Status of Women Council in April 2001.
Perspective developed by the Yukon Conservation Society in 2008, which is still valid today.
This report (published in 1999) was prepared by Can-nic-a-nick Environmental and Laberge Environmental Services for the Ross River Dena Council in response to concerns over liquid waste (effluent) from a mineral exploration adit in the headwaters of the South Macmillan River (1981).
